Portuguese (português) is a Romance language of the Indo-European family, with Latin roots. It originated in the region of present-day Galicia (Spain) and northern Portugal. Today, it is the official language of Portugal and eight other countries, most of which are former Portuguese colonies.
Portuguese is the second most spoken Romance language after Spanish. It has approximately 210 to 215 million native speakers, with the total number of speakers estimated at around 240 million.
This makes Portuguese the seventh most spoken language in the world. Since April 2025, Acadecultural has been the only accredited Portuguese language examination center in Northern Greece, in collaboration with CAPLE and the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.

- Description: Exams are held in Greece three times a year, in May, July, and November, at private college venues in Thessaloniki.
