French

The French language belongs to the Latin-born European languages with a dynamic presence on the five continents as it is an official language in 29 countries with approximately two hundred million speakers. The French language is the second official language in all international organizations (UN, NATO, UNESCO, etc.).
Together with English, they are the two working languages of the European Union on a global scale. It used to be known as the language of diplomacy and various languages have many loan words from French in their vocabulary, after all it is the second taught language after English.
The French language is considered the par excellence language of the humanities and culture. It covers a wide spectrum from literature, music, cinema to fashion and gastronomy.

Certificates and Levels

1. DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française)

  • Levels:
    • DELF: A1, A2, B1, B2
    • DALF: C1, C2
  • Description: The DELF and DALF certificates are globally recognized and cover language proficiency levels from beginner to advanced. Exams are conducted twice a year, in November and May. Starting in September 2025, an additional exam session will be available in Greece exclusively for adults.

2. SORBONNE( Université de la Sorbonne)

  • Levels:
    • Sorbonne B2
    • Sorbonne C1 FOU ou littérature
    • Sorbonne C2 FOU ou littérature
  • Description: The certificates from the University of Sorbonne are internationally recognized and focus on culture and literature. Exams are conducted twice a year, in November and May.

3. State Certificate of Language Proficiency (ΚΠΓ)

  • Levels:
    • Α1-Α2, Β1-Β2, Γ1-Γ2
  • Description: The ΚΠΓ offers certifications for all language proficiency levels, recognized by the Greek state. Exams are held in November and May.

A1-B1: 5 teaching hours per week for 9 months
B1-B2: 5 teaching hours per week for 9 months
B2-C1: 4 teaching hours per week for 9 months
C1-C2: 4 teaching hours per week for 9 months
