It is considered the second most important language after English in the Western world, thanks to its increasing use in the US, its relative influence in education, the growing economy of the Spanish-speaking world, its influence on the music industry and world literature .
Spanish is a member of the Romance language branch of the Indo-European language family, originating mainly from the Latin language and having many elements in common with the languages of neighboring European countries.
Certificates and Levels
1. DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera)
- Levels:
- A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2
- Description: The DELE system includes six certification levels, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Exams are held in November, May, and July in Thessaloniki by the Instituto Cervantes.
2. SIELE (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española)
- Description: SIELE is a modern method of certifying Spanish language proficiency, under the auspices of the Instituto Cervantes.
3. State Certificate of Language Proficiency (KΠΓ)
- Description: Exams are held every November and May. The certificate is graded and covers levels A1-A2, B1-B2, C1-C2.

Course Duration
A1-B1: 9 months – 3 teaching hours per week
B1-B2: 9 months – 3 teaching hours per week
B2-C1: 9 months – 4 teaching hours per week
C1-C2: 9 months – 4 teaching hours per week
